Ode to "Airplane!"

From the Washington Post:

"Airplane!" was a spoof of the disaster-related airport and towering inferno movies of the 1970s. And what an enormous sendup of American culture it was. Disco. "Jaws." Ronald Reagan. Poker-playing Girl Scouts. It's all there, in what is arguably the funniest movie ever made, a movie that turns 25 this summer.

To those of you who haven't seen it -- you must. Repeatedly. Right now. Go.

  • It is like the Matrix -- you can't catch everything the first time you watch it.

  • Holy Cow!! I can't believe those two girls actually said ANYTHING good about my favorite movie! Thanks, girls, now I know how you really feel, all together. (Now I know how you really feel.) YES, anyone else who sees this, DO FIND THIS MOVIE somewhere, if you have not seen it. It may be kind of silly, but if anyone doesn't laugh sometime during the movie, that person is not human!!!
