Surprise, surprise -- no WMDs

It's official:

In his final word, the CIA’s top weapons inspector in Iraq said Monday that the hunt for weapons of mass destruction has “gone as far as feasible” and has found nothing, closing an investigation into the purported programs of Saddam Hussein that were used to justify the 2003 invasion.

So we invaded and lost well over 1,000 American citizens (and a much greater number of Iraqis), on false justification. Great. Thanks, Bush.

I hope you personally send letters of apology to every one of those soldiers' families.

Oh, and by the way, did anyone see the report that the number of acts of terrorism TRIPLED last year over two years ago? In response, the State Department, mirroring the official administration policy of not accepting responsibility for anything, decided to simply suppress the report.

Classy move, guys.

  • Hardly a surprise. We've all known that Shrub was an idiot for quite some time. This just confirms our knowledge yet again. Bleh.
